We offer art classes for anyone who is interested.
This can be a hobby and a new experience.

We have 4 different courses so that everyone can find a class that’s right for them.  Don’t hesitate to ask us if you have any questions.


1. A new Experience course

You can make anything you want such as bags, lamps, flower baskets, etc. The purpose of this course is the experience of making art from natural materials. We will help you to complete your projects but will not go into the theory of weaving.

2. A new Experience course “Petit”

This course is taught by a trainer who has been trained at KOBO KAGO.
There is a limit of material for weaving and size but it’s cheaper than the regular course.

3. Professional course

This course is only available for customers who want to learn the theory behind weaving.
This class starts with learning basic weaving theory, then will learn to calculate the length of strips on the basis of dimensions, eventually you will be able to make bags from start to finish by yourself.
After finishing the curriculum, you will learn how to pick materials and make strips by attending an observation in the field.
Course curriculum
  1. Weaving 《AJIRO,ICHIMATSU etc…》　3days~
    By learning AJIRO style of weaving you will learn the basic theory behind these weaving styles and how to get a profesionally finished product.
  2. Combining 《MUTSUME, YOTSUME, etc…》 3days~
    By learning SASHIMUTSUME style of weaving you will learn the basic theory behind the combining style and how to get a profesionally finished product.
  3. Knot 《HANAMUSUBI,ISHIDATAMI , etc…》3days~
    By learning HANAMUSUBI style of weaving you will learn the basic theory behind the knot style and how to get a profesionally finished product.
  4. Other 　1day~
    You will learn TAGAJIME, Military Blade, TATAMIAMI, RYOMENHANAMUSUBI, and you will also learn applied weaving technics for making accessories.
※When you finish all curriculum, you can attend an observation on gathering materials between the middle of June to beginning of July.

4. Private lesson
